Android 12: Beta

Google has released the public beta for their upcoming Android 12 operating system, available for many devices starting today!

The OS has been rebuilt from the ground up and has multiple improvements in almost every area from, security, customization, privacy, and accessibility. Performance has also been improved although real world results may vary from device to device.

Great additions like the recording indicator above, and per app permissions for access as seen below, should make it much easier for those not as technically savvy to protect their privacy during everyday use.

Below one of the most interesting features for the user facing side of the OS is "Color Extraction" which completely recolors many parts of the OS based on the complimentary colors it detects from your wallpaper.

The OS is available in public Beta now for several devices, including Android TV, and will fully launch sometime later this year. Although a relatively straightforward process in most cases, one should take caution with these early releases as they often have many bugs that would prevent them from being stable enough for daily use.
